Welcome to 2022 and I hope you’ve managed to take some time off over the holiday period and kept safe from COVID.

Like every new year, all I seem to hear is the term ‘new year a new YOU’? Are you really new or are you the same but with different goals? Personally, I’d like to believe that with each year that passes we remain the same but our priorities change. With that in mind, let’s talk about some areas in your life that can be tweaked to help you achieve your health and wellbeing goals for 2022.

  • Diet: I’m not saying start a diet but rather take a look at what you’re eating. I’m always telling everyone to eat clean and by that, I mean TRY to stay away from anything that comes in a packet. Instead, opt for fresh salads with your protein or roast up some veggies; try snacking on carrot sticks and hummus, or just grab a piece of fruit. You could even introduce meat-free days into your weekly diet….just a thought!
  • Exercise: Dust off the old gym membership and get your ass there! DON’T start out like some superhero, instead gradually work your way back into the routine of going; remember the gym is supposed to be fun and not a chore. If you do find the gym a chore then it might be time to look at a different form of exercise.
  • Mindfulness: Like most of us I ended 2021 emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausted and while there were many contributing factors I will say that I didn’t allow enough time for ME. So, this year I’m doing things differently. I WILL be including more time for meditation, I WILL be reading more interesting books and not just books on health, I WILL be making a point of trying something new each month. Mental health is just as important as physical health so be kind to yourself and don’t be afraid to be selfish with your time.
  • Lifestyle: Are you happy with your current job? Are you happy with how you’re living your life? Simple questions but I’m aware that they can trigger off feelings of anxiety, frustration, happiness, or even sadness. What I’m trying to say is when was the last time you did a stocktake on your life and made changes to make you feel better about yourself? Have you thought about de-cluttering your life to remove the crap (jobs, material items, people) that no longer brings you joy? Take a moment to think about that……

Take a moment and reflect on where you see yourself at the end of 2022 and know that I am here to help you reach your goals or to help you get your health back on track please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@annedaviesnutritionlifecoach.com.au
